School of Applied Information Technologies
The School of Applied Information Technologies (formerly the Faculty of Automation and Applied Informatics) was established April 1, 2000. SAIT can be called a pioneer of courses which previously had no analogues in the nearest regions - "Information Technologies in Education", "Information Systems and Technologies", "Business Informatics" and "Management and Informatics in Technical Systems".
SAIT of GSOTU is the leading school in the North Caucasus Federal district of the Russian Federation, which trains highly qualified personnel in the field of information technology, information security, software development, administration of computer networks and design of telecommunication systems. SAIT graduates are in high demand on the labor market as specialists capable of designing and operating economic corporate information systems, information management systems, creating new generations of information technologies and software products, ensuring information security for users of all levels.
SAIT students take an active part and win in both national and international competitions in IT-technologies. In IT-Planeta competition 7 students from 2014 to 2018 became participants of the International Final. SAIT students participate in events organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation in the North Caucasus Federal District, and representatives of the Rosmolodezh - “SKFO IT School”, Student Forums, Startups, Mashuk, Tavrida and many others. It proves the high level of professional training of IT-specialists in GSOTU. SAIT students and young teachers have dozens of grants from IT projects supported by the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (RFBR), the Bortnik Foundation (UMNIK, START). Also the students won Zvorykinsky project and many others.
Highly qualified teachers train at the Institute of applied information technologies: 10 Doctors of Science, 29 Candidates of Science, as well as experienced production workers and young specialists. Leading experts of IT-companies, high-tech regional communications companies, energy and other departments are involved in course design and teaching. Businesses of the region provide places for industrial, pre-diploma practices and internships for students with the possibility of employment after receiving a diploma from GSOTU.
